Police have launched a murder investigation after a woman's body was found in a park in Kidbrooke.
Police were called at around 5.30pm on Saturday, September 18 after the body was discovered near a community centre in Kidbrooke Park Road, SE3.
Officers believe they know the identity of the woman, aged in her 20s, but are awaiting formal identification and confirmation that the next of kin have been informed.
A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course according to police.
At around 9.20pm on Saturday evening, officers arrested a man on suspicion of murder from a house in Lewisham.
He is in custody at a south London police station.
A number of crime scenes are in place and enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "An investigation has been launched into the death of a woman whose body was found in Kidbrooke.
"Police were called at 17:32hrs on Saturday, 18 September after a body was discovered near a community centre in Kidbrooke Park Road, SE3.
"Officers believe they know the identity of the woman, who is aged in her 20s, but they await formal identification and confirmation that next of kin have been informed.
"A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.
"At around 21:20hrs on 18 September, police attended an address in Lewisham and arrested a man on suspicion of murder. He has been taken into custody at a south London police station.
"A number of crime scenes are in place and enquiries are ongoing.
