A man who allegedly attacked an officer with a blade as they attempted to arrest him in Gravesend has been charged with multiple offences.
Shaun Johnson, 35, of no fixed address, has been charged with attempted wounding with intent, common assault of an emergency services worker and assault by beating of an emergency services worker.
He has also been charged with criminal damage, aggravated vehicle taking, driving without a license or insurance, and possessing a bladed object in a public place.
Police were called to a report of a disturbance on Ingoldsby Road last Sunday, September 5.
Johnson is reported to have used a "bladed object" to attempt to cause an injury to the chest of an officer seeking to arrest him in relation to the allegations, who avoided serious injury as they were wearing a stab vest.
He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on September 7, where he was remanded to appear before Woolwich Crown Court on October 5.
