A man has sadly died on railway tracks near Eltham following an 'emergency incident' late last night (September 8).
Southeastern started reporting major delays on the Bexleyheath train line at around 10pm on Wednesday, and said that emergency services were rushing to the scene.
The line was closed and all services suspended for over two hours as police and paramedics responded.
British Transport Police (BTP) have since confirmed that a man has been killed on the railway tracks near Eltham in south east London.
Paramedics attended along with BTP officers and sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are not treating the casualty as suspicious.
A spokesperson for the BTP said: "Officers were called to the line near Eltham at 9.53pm yesterday (8 September) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, and sadly a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
