Police have charged a man from Dartford with arson and a number of other offences after allegedly setting fire to a flat.
Marc Holt, 38, from Dartford, has been charged with assault, breaching a non-molestation order, criminal damage, arson and more, with the alleged offences taking place between December 2020 and July 2021.
Kent Police said the arson charge relates to a break-out fire on July 21 which saw emergency services rush to a flat in Roberts Lane in Ebbsfleet.
A spokesperson for the fire service said firefighting crews were called to reports of a fire in the bedroom of a flat just after 6am on July 21.
Two fire engines were sent to battle the blaze and had it under control within an hour.
There were no casualties reported, but an investigation into the cause of the fire found it to be suspicious.
Marc Holt, of Littlebrook Manor Way, Temple Hill, Dartford, is now due to appear in court accused of arson.
The 38-year-old was charged with a further seven suspected offences: breaching a non-molestation order, sending a malicious communication, two counts of assault and additional two counts of criminal damage.
Holt also faces a further charge of assaulting a police officer on August 12.
He appeared at Medway Magistrates Court to face the charges against him on August 13, and has been remanded in custody to attend Woolwich Crown Court on September 10.
