Hermes has announced a new partnership with Tesco.
The delivery firm will provide ParcelShop services across its convenience estate nationwide.
Services will start from September 6 in the first phase of stores and a continued roll-out is planned over the coming months.
With more consumers choosing Out of Home options for parcel deliveries as lockdown rules lift, Hermes plans to expand its network to make it even easier for consumers to access options for sending, receiving and returning parcels.
The Hermes ParcelShop estate currently includes more than 6,000 independent retailers, retail groups and lockers.
Hermes said that by 2022, 80 per cent of the UK’s population will be within a 10-minute walk of their nearest ParcelShop or locker.
It also expects to handle more than 80 million parcels through its Out of Home network this year.
Kath Gill, head of ParcelShop Services at Hermes, said: “We’re really excited to announce our new partnership with Tesco.
"It will make Hermes ParcelShop services even more accessible to people across the UK.
"It comes at a time when we know people are looking for maximum convenience and options for sending, receiving and returning their parcels.
"The last 18 months have demonstrated the importance of being able to meet ever-changing consumer demands when it comes to both online shopping and customer-to-customer sending, so we continue to invest in our infrastructure, technology and services to support the nation.”
Customers were recently asked to rate their experience of delivery firms in the UK over the previous year.
In the survey, 11,440 people voted and the delivery companies were ranked either by "great", "ok" or "poor".
This year, DPD Local ranked as the best delivery firm for the first time.
Previous poll winner DPD dropped to second place. In third place came Amazon Logistics followed by Royal Mail in fourth.
Hermes took the fifth spot.
The firm recently also started testing out driverless vans in the UK for the first time.
