The Golden Chippy in Greenwich High Road has bagged TripAdvisor’s number one spot for the best fish and chips across London.

That’s right, across the WHOLE of London.

The Golden Chippy’s site questions ‘who said you need to be at the seaside to have the best fish and chips?’ and it really isn’t wrong.

It’s got a five star rating for its service, and wins four and a half stars for food, value and atmosphere.

You can takeaway, or you can dine inside or out – and you can even have an alcoholic tipple with your meal.

One reviewer dubbed the golden chippy go-to as “a must visit place” while another said it makes “literally the best fish and chips in the world”.

Reviewers complimented the service, staff, dining areas and location – so really what is there not to love at this fish and chip hub?!

The Golden Chippy owner Chris Kanizi arrived in London in 1977 with ambitions of studying medicine and training as a doctor.

Luckily for us, that didn’t quite work out and instead of operating on humans he became an expert fish surgeon before opening The Golden Chippy doors in 2005.

The Golden Chippy is located at 62 Greenwich High Road, SE10 8LF and is open Monday to Saturday 11am to 11pm and on Sundays and Bank Holidays from 12pm to 11pm.
