With big names disappearing from the high street in recent years, councillors say they are 'delighted' that a global company has opened up a new store in Bexleyheath.
Amplifon, a leading hearing specialist, said Bexleyheath is a "great area to invest in" and that they intent to serve the community by taking care of their hearing health.
The deputy mayor of Bexley Alan Downing said that he was 'delighted' that a national retail business was showing confidence in the high street.
The councillor said: “In these extraordinary times of Covid-19 we have seen some big names disappearing from our town centres, but I am delighted that a company like Amplifon is reversing the trend by opening a new store in Bexleyheath.”
Paula Cave, Amplifon UK’s General Manager, welcomed Councillor Downing to the opening of the new store at 249 Broadway this week.
She said: “I am so pleased that Bexleyheath was chosen first.
"We are looking to open around 10 new stores in England and Wales in the next 12 months. We believe in serving our customers’ every need and being on the high street is where they want to find us.
“Bexleyheath is a great area in which to invest and Amplifon, led by our excellent audiologist Artiom Prigozhiy, intends to serve the community by taking care of their hearing health.”
Amplifon operates in 26 countries and has 105 stores across the UK, employing 17,500 staff worldwide as a leading global hearing specialist.
