THOUSANDS of pounds have been raised to help pay for the funeral of a 16-year-old boy following a hit and run in Bromley.
Junior Shay Alexander, who lived locally, died after a red Fiat punto knocked him down at around 1.20am on Southborough Lane on July 18.
LAS attended and took the 16-year-old to hospital where he was sadly pronounced dead.
The driver, a 20-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at a crash scene, causing death by dangerous driving and providing a positive alcohol breath test.
He was taken into custody and later released on bail pending further enquiries.

A GoFundMe appeal describes Junior as a “bright young boy who recently sat his GCSES and was expected to get all As.”
It has since raised over £13,000 to go towards funeral costs.
Tributes have since poured in through the fundraising page where he has been described as a "shining star" by those who taught him.
One message under the appeal said: "Absolutely heartbroken to hear of Junior’s passing.
"My thoughts and deepest condolences to all of his family for their loss. Gone far too soon. Rest in peace Junior. It was a pleasure to have taught you."
Another teacher said: "You’ll always be a shining star Junior; it’s been an honour to have taught you and to have watched you grow these last few years.
"May you always be the brightest star looking over us all."
Earlier this week, Junior's parents appealed to the public for information.
“We are still in shock and struggling to come to terms with the fact that our beautiful son is gone," they said in a statement.
“He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, grandson and all those who knew him loved him.
“As we continue to deal with his unbearable loss, we would ask that any witnesses to the incident please contact police."
Anyone who saw the collision, witnessed the removal of the e-scooter, or who saw a red Fiat Punto being driven in the area at around 1.20am, is urged to call police on 0208 285 1574, providing the reference 775/18JUL.
The fundraiser reached £13,510 at the time of publishing.
