An elderly man has died after being hit by a lorry in Orpington this afternoon.
Police and ambulance services rushed to Court Road, near the junction with Ramsden Road, shortly before 1pm.
The victim, believed to be a man in his 70s, sadly died at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed.
The lorry driver stopped at the scene.
No arrests have been made at this stage, as enquiries into the circumstances continue.
Court Road currently remains closed both ways, with traffic slow from Ramsden Road to Bark Hart Road.
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 12.57pm this afternoon (July 6) to reports of a road traffic collision in Court Road, Orpington.
“We sent two ambulance crews, a medic in a fast response car and an incident response officer to the scene. The first ambulance arrived in three minutes.
“Sadly, the elderly patient died at the scene.”
