A teenager has been charged with murder after a 19-year-old was stabbed to death in Sydenham.
Tashawn Watt died at the scene at around 9.30pm on Friday, June 25, after being stabbed on Miall Walk.
Romello Harley, 19, of Kirkdale, Sydenham, will appear in custody at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, June 30, charged with his murder.
Harley has also been charged with possession of a bladed article.
Flowers were laid at the scene over the weekend, as forensic experts assessed the area.
A dozen family members could be seen speaking to detectives within the police cordon, covering the areas from the A212 to Champion Road, on Saturday.
One relative who did not wish to be named said the teenager’s mother is “in pieces”, as he stepped inside the cordon to support her.
Lewisham West and Penge MP Ellie Reeves tweeted: “Incredibly saddened to hear of the fatal stabbing of a 19 year old boy on Miall Walk in Sydenham last night.
“My thoughts & deepest sympathies are with the victim’s family. Yet another senseless loss of life, another family devastated by knife crime and it needs to stop.”
