The windows of an Italian restaurant in the heart of Beckenham were smashed by vandals last night.
The attack on Pierluigi's, thought to have taken place at around 4am this morning (May 22), saw a main window completely destroyed and another set damaged.
Fortunately, thanks to an "amazing local artisan", the window has already been replaced, allowing the restaurant to reopen as normal today.
A spokesperson for Pierluigi's said: "We woke up this morning with the awful news that late last night the window of our beloved restaurant had been vandalised.
"Thankfully, no members of staff or clients were present when the incident occurred, we were all already fast asleep after another lovely evening at the restaurant.
"We are delighted that, with the help of an amazing local artisan the damaged window is being replaced, as we write, and we are able to open as normal.
The lovely restaurant Pierluigis where we shot our film at back in 2018, got vandalised recently and it breaks our hearts 💔 pic.twitter.com/6Pusb6X8We

"Lastly, we are truly grateful for all your lovely messages of support and belief for such a foolish at, especially after the sacrifices and stress we all endured during lockdown.
"We are open, ready to serve you our tasty Italian dishes and create new memorable moments together."
