A total of 65 individuals were paid in excess of £100,000 by councils in south east London, according to a 'rich list' compiled by a right-wing pressure group.
The figures, for the 2019/20 financial year, have been published by the Taxpayers' Alliance as part of its latest annual findings.
Greenwich has the most top earners, 28 in total, the highest paid being Chief Executive Debbie Warren with a salary of £198,466.
In Bexley, 15 employees were included. Again, the Chief Executive topped the list in earnings, taking home £187,546.
A spokesperson for Bexley Council said: "We have continued to reduce the number of senior officers in our structures and in the last year we have reduced the cost of our management structure by £900,000.
"Staff in senior roles in Bexley have extensive portfolios and are highly qualified professionals with extensive experience of running complex services for the benefit of residents. To attract and retain suitably qualified staff requires competitive remuneration.
"The figures provided also include remuneration for additional duties undertaken to deliver elections in accordance with the rates agreed for London.”
Lewisham Council contributed 14 staff members to the list, with Chief Executive Kim Wright collecting £180,525, the lowest of her counterparts in south east London.
Pinaki Ghoshal, Executive Director for Children and Young people, was the next highest earner on £163,634.
A Lewisham Council spokesperson said: “Senior officer salaries are in line with those paid by comparable councils and reflect the high- quality of post holders and their responsibilities and expertise.
"We are transparent about this - as with all council spending - and these details are published online and available for our residents.”
Bromley Council paid just eight staff more than £100,000. Ade Adetosoye, another Chief Executive, was the highest earner on £195,399.
Bromley Council and Greenwich Council were approached for comment.
