POLICE investigating the murder of a woman found stabbed to death in her flat have arrested a 28-year-old-man.
The man - believed to be the dead woman's partner - attended an east London police station yesterday and has been in custody since.
The 28-year-old woman's body was found by police in a top-floor flat in Redlands Court, London Road, Bromley, at about 6am yesterday.
The woman had been stabbed several times and was dead when police arrived at the scene.
A 10-year-old boy was taken to hospital with neck injuries, which are said to be not life-threatening.
There will be a post-mortem examination of the woman - who has not been formally identified - at Greenwich mortuary today.
A Redlands Court resident, who asked not to be named, was woken up by banging at 5.30am.
She said: "I can't explain the noise, it was like banging on the wall.
"It went on and on until there was a large bang.
"Then it was quiet until I heard the sirens.
"There were police cars everywhere, but we didn't find out what happened until last night.
"Everywhere was cordoned off.
"I have never known anything like it and I have been here four years. It is a quiet place."
She added: "There was a little boy - he was a bit of a loner. He lived in the flat with her."
Another neighbour, who did not want to be named, said: "We know the little boy. He used to play out on the front.
"I got up about 5.45am and saw the flashing lights. There was an ambulance and four police cars."
She added: "It is a shock - not nice at all. I have always felt very safe living here."
