Emergency services rushed to the scene of a house fire on Newlands Park in Sydenham today (September 22) after a blaze tore through a property on the street.
Images posted to social media showed bright orange flames leaping from a second story window, with massive plumes of grey and black smoke billowing out from the house.
Cordons were put in place by the emergency services on Newlands Park as fire crews from London Fire Brigade (LFB) tackled the fire into Tuesday evening.

Lewisham Met Police, who helped coordinate the emergency response with LFB, said:
"Police are assisting LFB at a house fire in the Newlands Park are of #Sydenham and cordons are in place.
"There is no report of any injury. Drivers are advised to avoid the area."

Cordons reportedly remain in place at present with transport links through the area disrupted.
London Fire Brigade were contacted for comment.
