The victim of a fatal stabbing in Lewisham has been named after she died in hospital on her birthday.
Dawn Bennett died from her injuries in hospital on June 16, the day of her 59th birthday.
Police were called to an address in Lewisham Way on June 10, after calls reporting concern for the welfare of the resident.
Upon arriving, officers discovered a woman with stab wounds.
A post-mortem examination found the cause of death to be a stab wound to the chest.
A 31-year-old man was arrested on the day of the incident on suspicion of attempted murder, and remanded into custody.
He was charged with the offence and following an appearance at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Friday, June 12, was remanded to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday, 10 July.
