A long stretch of the A2 between Dartford and Bexley has been closed off this morning after two lorries were involved in a "serious injury collision."
A heavy presence of emergency services have been at the scene of a major crash since the early hours of May 28, with an air ambulance landing on the London-bound carriageway.
Police and firefighters were called to the coastbound carriageway of the A2, near Darenth, at around 4:20am this morning.
The road was quickly closed after two lorries, one with a trailer, were involved in a major crash between the A2018 Old Bexley Lane and M25 J2.
Police say there are "serious injuries."
Highways England warned of severe delays on the M25 after police closed part of the A2, although the London-bound carriageway has now reopened.
Kent Police said in a statement: "The coastbound carriageway of the A2 near Darenth is closed following a serious injury collision.

"The carriageway is closed at the junction for Dartford Heath. The Londonbound carriageway was closed to allow the air ambulance to land and has now reopened."
