A NEW model of the whole of the Thames Gateway region is the length of three London buses.

Greenwich is included in the 25m by 11m model, which is the largest of its type in the UK, and features all existing buildings, transport networks, public spaces, waterways and landscaping in the area.

Created by Pipers Models, it will be large enough for people to walk around and see what developments are taking place across the region.

Projects will be highlighted on the physical model and supported by interactive screens giving full details of each scheme.

The Thames Gateway stretches 40 miles and is the biggest regeneration project in western Europe.

Greenwich residents will be able to see their borough's section in Woolwich Town Hall, Wellington Street, Woolwich, from 9am until 5pm on January 3.

They will also have the chance to see it from 9am to 4pm on January 4 and from 10am until 1pm on January 5.
