The teenager who was fatally stabbed in Woolwich on Sunday has been named by detectives as 18-year-old Cameron Murfitt.
Cameron, who was from Greenwich, was stabbed on Academy Road at around 3:30pm on March 15, and was found by police and ambulance teams in Woolwich Common.
Despite the best efforts of passers-by, police and paramedics, he died at the scene.
The Met launched a murder investigation following the incident, and it is now known that there was a collision between a white car and a motorbike being ridden by Cameron.
As a result, he came off his bike and then the suspect exited the car and stabbed him.
Enquiries continue to establish the full-circumstances, but at this stage officers believe both parties knew each other.
On Monday, an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and has been bailed to return on a date in mid-April.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has information, video or images that could assist police, is asked to call the incident room on 020 8721 4622.
If you don’t want to speak to the police, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. They are a totally independent charity and you remain 100 per cent anonymous, they never ask your name and they cannot trace your call, your IP address or device you use. The Met say that reducing violent crime on the streets of London continues to be its top priority. "We are working tirelessly - day and night – to take weapons off the street, engage and reassure the public, and keep our communities safe."
The public also play a huge role. Police need to hear from anyone who has information about a crime, or about someone they suspect to be carrying a weapon.
