THE dinner held last month to celebrate the institute's 58th birthday was very much enjoyed.
Members would wish to thank residents who supplied items to be sold at the recent jumble sale.
The British and International Sailor's Port Chaplains asked if WI members would be willing to knit woolly hats for seafarers.
Institute members got knitting and the institute is pleased to be able to send 36 hats of varying colours to aid the project.
Members should look forward to an attractive garden at the memorial hall for all to enjoy as the trustees are to receive a donation from the Channel Tunnel Rail Link communities fund for outside work.
The institute meets at the Memorial Hall, Lewis Road, Istead Rise.
