A dad has described his shock at seeing a man "punch" his young child before crashing into another car outside McDonald's on Sidcup High Street.
Keith, from Sidcup, was eating at the High Street restaurant on Thursday afternoon with his 14-year-old daughter when he claims he saw a man in a high-vis jacket run out and jump into his car.
He recalled watching in horror as the man started "hitting his son" who was sitting in the back of the car - "really punching" the child.
The Sidcup resident told News Shopper the man then tore off down Station Road in his car, crashing into a couple of "stunned pensioners" as he went and not stopping to check the damage.
"The couple were really shaken up and lucky not to be hurt," he said.
A Met Police spokeswoman confirmed: "Police were called at 15:38hrs on Thursday, 17 October to reports of a collision between two cars outside of a restaurant on Sidcup High Street, Bexley.
"It was reported that a car drove out of the car park at speed and into another car.
"Enquiries are ongoing; no arrests have been made."
News Shopper understands the man had been into McDonald's to ask for a free family meal before running out of the restaurant.
A McDonald's spokeswoman said: “An incident took place outside the restaurant involving two cars yesterday.
"The police were called and are currently investigating this further.”
