ELDERLY and disabled users of a transport service will soon be able to travel for free.
Fares for Dial-a-Ride bus journeys will be abolished Mayor of London Ken Livingstone announced Dial-a-Ride door-to-door fares for older and disabled Londoners will be abolished from January 1.
In Greenwich, 1,181 people currently use the scheme and in Lewisham there are 1,466 users.
Dial-a-Ride is provided by Transport for London (TfL) for older and disabled people who cannot use public transport.
Carers travelling with disabled passengers will also travel free.
Mr Livingstone says the decision will cost TfL £700,000 a year.
