A busy Welling street has been closed off by police due to a water leak which is causing the road to collapse.
According to a post on the Wellling Police Facebook page, Wickham Street has been shut as members of the London Fire Brigade are currently attending to the leak.
It's understood that Thames Water have been made aware of the situation as, according to Welling officers, the road "is collapsing".
Cops are now asking commuters to avoid the area if possible and to seek alternative routes home.
A Thames Water spokesman has said: "We’re sorry to anyone who has been impacted by a burst to an eight-inch water pipe.
"We’re aiming to get it fixed as soon as possible and a temporary lane closure is in place to allow the work to be carried out safely."
