A little girl left devastated after her much loved bike was snatched from her home has been "blown away" by the kindness of Bromley Police officers and Halfords.
The "heartbroken" girl’s family called the police to report the theft and officers Ayling and Grayson went the extra mile for her.
Bromley Police said in a statement: "We all have memories of learning to ride our first bike, and the freedom and exhilaration that it brought to us."

The officers visited Halfords to explain the situation to the manager, who kindly donated a brand new bike for the thrilled girl.
"You can see how delighted she is in the photo with the new bike," the statement read.
"The officers, and the little girl were totally blown away by this act of kindness.
"It really restores your faith in humanity that despite the fact we share a world with cruel people who steal little girls bikes, total strangers can also do an act of simple kindness that brings no benefit to themselves but can make such a positive difference to others.
"And that’s the way we should all try to ride."
