Parts of a Sidcup flat were left destroyed by flames after a pack of batteries exploded after failing.
Two fire engines and around 10 firefighters were called to battle the blaze at the flat situated above a restaurant in Halfway Street, Sidcup shortly before 7:45am on Wednesday, April 24.
A passerby on the street saw smoke coming from a window and alerted the occupant, who immediately called the London Fire Brigade.

One person left the property before the arrival of the Brigade. There were no reported injuries.
Due to valiant efforts from the attending crews, the fire was under control by approximately 8:30am.
Fire crews from Sidcup Fire Station attended the scene.
The Brigade’s fire investigators believe the fire to be accidental due to the failed lithium batteries from an electric bicycle within the flat.
