The Mayor of London has said hospitality students at an Orpington restaurant were an "inspiration" after meeting them last week.
Sadiq Khan visited BR6 Restaurant and Bakehouse in the Orpington Campus of London South East Colleges after district Labour Party meeting on Friday.
He said: "I’m delighted to see first-hand the impact of GLA funding. BR6 Restaurant and Bakehouse is a powerful example of how funding has been used to help ensure that young people are career-ready and equipped with the skills employers need through real work experience.
"The hospitality students I met were an inspiration and have a vital role to play in helping us to close the skills gap in the London hospitality sector."

Catering student David Harris said it was "an honour" to host Mayor Khan.
He added: "I dare say I will get to meet lots of other famous guests during my career and this is just the start.
"I spoke to the Mayor about what I want to do in my life and how I expect this course to help me achieve my ambitions. He was very complimentary about the food and the service he received in BR6."
The BR6 Bakehouse in Orpington Town Centre opened in 2017 as an extension to the pre-existing BR6 Restaurant.
