A new cinema and library could be open by 2021 as councillors sign off on major revamp plans in Sidcup.
Other schemes to breathe new life into the Grade 2 listed Manor House as a spa and hotel have also taken big steps forward.
The plans have been in the works for over a year and councillors approved measures to move schemes forward last night.
The new two-floor library and cinema will feature three film screens, a café and meeting space with services open seven days a week.
The council will also agree a lease with a boutique spa and hotel to take over Sidcup Manor House.

The multi-million-pound development will have at least 42 beds along with restaurants and bars.
The cinema could be open by 2021, with Blockbuster having been closed since 2013.
Houses will be built at the old library site, probably by BexleyCo, with a small number of homes being included at the Blockbuster development.
Louie French, the deputy leader of the council and cabinet member for growth, said: “As a borough it is vital we do all we can to support our businesses.
“Town centres such as Sidcup face a number of challenges, both local via increased competition and national.
“In the knowledge that the schemes are all supported by the business community, they will help regenerate the town and bring new employment opportunities, giving a big thumbs-up to Sidcup.”
The scheme to close the library, move services and build houses at the old site upset some locals who said the current set-up was perfect for regulars.
The council said it has worked with residents with concerns, with ward councillors also backing the proposals.

Cllr Peter Craske, cabinet member for places, said: “What this project shows is that it’s no good investing once and leaving it, you have to keep coming back to it and moving it forward, otherwise services can die off.
“Across the country libraries are closing but we are holding our own and promoting them, making them the centres of our communities.
“In the new home for the library the clubs and usual services will all continue exactly as now, but by moving into the new building with the ability to open longer we can run more clubs that aren’t on now.
“I can’t wait for 2021 for when this landmark library and cinema opens.”
