A man is recovering in hospital after being assaulted in Forest Hill earlier this afternoon.
Despite reports on social media claiming the victim was stabbed, the met police say there is no information to suggest this.
A cordon remains in place in Wastdale Road and police were called to the incident just after 3pm.
"He has a number of injuries," a police spokesman said. "His condition is not thought to be life threatening."
No arrests have been made.
