An Abbey Wood woman has been charged for her alleged involvement in a cyber scam which hit a Kent company.
Gerogina Hanks, 34, of Sewell Road, is one of eight people from London, Essex, Dorset and Oxford charged in relation to the reported hacking of the Tunbridge Wells-based business in 2017 which resulted in one of its clients paying £25,000 to a third party after receiving a fraudulent email.
According to what Kent Police described as a "complex investigation", a case file was submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service, resulting in money-laundering charges being authorised against the eight suspects.
The investigation into the alleged cybercrimes was led by specialist officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.
