A mum has branded burglars who ransacked her home and trashed her little girl's room as "scum of the earth".
A number of houses in Greenwich have recently been targeted.
Leeanne Griffin took to Facebook yesterday to warn others after her house was broken into and her 10-year-old daughter's personal belongings were stolen.
The woman, who lives with her family in Eltham, wrote: "When you ransack a 10 year old girls room - you know you truly are dealing with scum of the earth.
"They have taken her laptop, her birthday and Xmas money, her Alexa, her links holy communion bracelet."
Police confirmed they had launched an investigation into this case, however no arrests have been made.
Another woman on Facebook said she was woken up a couple of nights ago when she heard people in her house.
She said: "I had some piece of scum in my house looking for stuff while me and my two children were asleep in bed.
"I woke up to noise with the piece of scum on my landing staring at me but it was pitch black just the light on his phone.
"Once he noticed I had woken up he ran down the stairs and out the back door."
Leeanne said these are not isolated incidents and another woman's house was targeted in Eltham a couple of days before.
She said: "The woman's son was in the house and had to barricade himself into his room."
Eltham police have also been contacted for comment.
The Met Police has given this advice:
Lock your doors and windows every time you leave the house, even when you're just out in the garden, remembering to double-lock UPVC doors (lift handle and turn key)
Hide all keys, including car keys, out of sight and away from the letterbox (remember a device could be used to hook keys through the letterbox)
Install a visual burglar alarm (as part of a suite of prevention measures - a burglar alarm on its own will not prevent entry to your home)
Install good outside lighting
Get a trusted neighbour to keep an eye on your property
Leave radios or lights in your house on a timer to make the property appear occupied
Make sure the fences around your garden are in good condition
Secure bikes at home by locking them to an immoveable object inside a locked shed or garage
Keep ladders and tools stored away; don't leave them outside where they could be used to break into your home
Ensure side gates are locked to prevent access to the rear of the property
Remove valuables from view of ground floor windows
Store any high value items (i.e. jewellery, passports) in a properly secured safe or bank vault
