A member of the Orpington Conservative Association has been suspended over an allegation of Islamophobia.
Mark Beaumont has been temporarily stripped of his membership after allegedly claiming on social media that Tory peer Baroness Sayeeda Warsi should be deported.
Baroness Warsi is a former Foreign Office minister and is a member of the House of Lords.
She is also the first Muslim to ever get a cabinet job in Britain.
Mr Beaumont is alleged to have written "deport" in a Facebook status that shared a story about the review of Baroness Warsi’s book The Enemy Within: A Tale of Muslim Britain.
The article was written by The Guardian on April 3, 2017.
A spokesman for the Conservative Party told News Shopper: "Mr Beaumont has already been suspended from the Conservative party, pending an investigation."
The claim was shared on Twitter by a group called Racists4Rees-Mogg.
