A little girl from Hayes who was upset when her classmate was diagnosed with leukaemia has spent three years growing her hair to donate it to children with cancer.
Summer Clark was just five when her friend’s hair started falling out.
"She was very good friends with him," Summer’s mum, Katie, told News Shopper.
"Thankfully he is absolutely fine now after being extremely poorly for two years."
She added: "At the time she told me 'mummy I have so much hair, I could give mine away and someone else could have mine'."

Another girl at Hayes Primary School developing a rare form of cancer also inspired Summer to grow her hair.
Katie said the other girl is now also doing much better.
Her daughter is having 12 inches of her long hair chopped, which will be donated to the Little Princess Trust, a charity which makes wigs for children with cancer.
Mum Katie said she was "very proud" of her daughter who she said has always been thoughtful to others.

Summer has been raising money for her brave challenge and has received "amazing" support.
"I have had to change the fundraising target twice now," Katie said. "We don’t even know some of the people who have donated but they have written how selfless she is that they had to sponsor."

On the JustGiving page one contributor wrote: "You don’t know me but I think you’re an amazing young lady, well done."
Mum Katie said losing so much hair will be a "massive shock" for Summer but said her daughter is excited to give it away for a good cause.
