Police are appealing for witnesses after a 36-year-old woman was stabbed while trying to stop an assault in Grove Park.

Officers were called to Baring Road at the junction with Downham Way yesterday at around 4.30pm.

The initial victim in this incident, a 17-year-old boy, arrived at a south London hospital with cuts to his forearm, and his injuries are not life-threatening.

The woman who was stabbed told officers she was injured as she attempted to stop the assault.

She was taken to a south London hospital, but her injuries are also not being treated as life-threatening.

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
