Vile racist language scrawled near a bus stop in Hither Green left a mum who was walking her young children appalled.
'Kill all w**s, n*****s are dogs' was scribbled on the red doorway in Hither Green Lane along with a swastika sign.
Emily Hall, a schoolteacher, spotted the hate speech on Sunday (December 30) morning before reporting it to police.
She told News Shopper: "I just couldn’t believe it. Imagine being a young black youth reading that?
"To be fair I felt horrific reading it. You feel violated in your own community. It is just awful."
Emily was with her baby and two-year-old when the horrific graffiti stopped her in her tracks.
The mum has lived in Hither Green for over 10 years and is originally from Canada.
"That’s not the place I want to live," she said. "My sons were born here and even if it was just stupid kids, that’s not the point.
"We are passionate about diversity and equality in Hither Green and that’s not what we teach kids.
"That’s why I felt such an affront when I saw it."
She praised the police who arrived shortly after the call and also gave credit to a woman who came along to scrub the ink away.
A police spokesman said they were investigating the incident and no arrests have been made.
They added: "Police are investigating racist graffiti in Lewisham.
"A member of the public reported seeing the graffiti written in marker pen, above the doorway leading to flats in Hither Green Lane."
