Police are continuing their search for missing mum Sarah Wellgreen as her disappearance approaches the two-month mark this Sunday.
Sarah went missing from the Bazes Shaw area in New Ash Green area on October 9 and has not been in contact with her family since. Police are treating her disappearance as a potential murder case.
According to police, searches are still ongoing and officers have been scouring areas within west Kent in a bid to find the mum-of-five.
Detective Chief Inspector Ivan Beasley, of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: "Our officers are continuing to search a number of areas in west Kent in connection with the disappearance and potential murder of Sarah Wellgreen.
"Volunteers from Kent Search and Rescue, as well as community groups, have assisted us in searching various locations and we continue to be very grateful for their contribution.
"I would also like to thank members of the public for the information we are continuing to receive as a result of our ongoing appeal for information."
The boyfriend of Sarah Wellgreen, Neil James, also recently reissued an emotional appeal on Facebook for information regarding her whereabouts, writing: "Let’s please, please help make sure our Sarah Jane Wellgreen is brought back to her children, loving mum, family members, friends, me and my family soon."
As the two-month anniversary of her disappearance approaches, volunteer search co-ordinator Sharon Brine told News Shopper that volunteers have not given up hope and are continuing to help in any way they can.
"There is a lot of activity going on. We're out drumming up awareness, asking for CCTV, putting up posters and chasing up any leads coming in through the Search for Sarah Wellgreen Facebook. We're working reactively now instead of proactively.
"We've put together a small team of volunteer specialists who know the area well who have been helping the police in their searches," she said.
She also told of how she didn't expect this saga to continue as long as it has and that as last month was Sarah's birthday they are just trying to support her worried family.
"We thought it would be over and done within a couple of weeks.
"We're trying to give the family some support right now. Be there for whatever is needed," she said.
People within a 10-mile radius of New Ash Green who have CCTV footage from the night Ms Wellgreen went missing are being urged to get in touch with police.
