A new fish and chip shop inspired by David Attenborough’s television programme Blue Planet has opened in Elmers End.
Blue Planet Fish and Chips will welcome customers seven days a week in Eden Park Road.
Owner Nick Myselaj explained how his daughter played a part in naming the takeaway.
He said: "We sell five different varieties of battered fish and my daughter realised, while watching the documentary Blue Planet, that it was the perfect name for us – to reflect the many different kinds of fish and seafood that we sell."
The space was previously known as El Supremo and the latest owner wants to create a new experience for customers.
He said: "I’m passionate about fish and chips and keen to give customers the friendliest service. We want to make sure that locals can enjoy freshly made-to-order fish and chips, every day, seven days a week."
The different types of fish include cod, haddock, rock, plaice, skate, scampi and calamari.
Blue Planet is offering fish and chips for £6 between the hours of 12pm – 4pm from Monday to Saturday for senior citizens.
