A pub in Chelsfield could be set for a revamp if new plans are given the green light.
Punch Partnerships has proposed bulldozing The Chelsfield in Windsor Drive and replacing it with a new boozer, a shop and flats.
The developer plans to build a four-storey block with 10 apartments above the new pub and convenience store on the ground level.
According to the proposal: “The development will make the most effective use of brownfield land whilst at the same time ensuring that the amenity of existing and future residents is protected.
“The proposal will result in the creation of a new public house, re-providing the use in a modern and high quality setting that will better serve the existing and future community.
“The provision of a new convenience store will help to extend pedestrian traffic to this end of the local parade and expand the range of retail facilities for existing and future residents.”
If approved by the council, the new development will have 30 parking spaces, 20 for the pub and shop and 10 for the flats.
The majority of flats would be one-bedroom, with three two-bedroom flats and a flat for the pub’s landlord.
The plans are currently being considered by officers at the council.
