There is a new Facebook hoax in town and it makes you believe that someone has hacked your account.
You may just be sitting minding your own business when you receive a message from a friend or someone you didn't realise you were connected with.
It will probably read something like this:
“Hi....I actually got another friend request from you which I ignored so you may want to check your account. Hold your finger on the message until the forward button appears...then hit forward and all the people you want to forward too....I had to do the people individually. PLEASE DO NOT ACCEPT A NEW friendship FROM ME AT THIS TIME.”
This may set alarm bells ringing in your head that you have been hacked and someone is wandering around in your shoes calling themselves 'Bob', but chances are, they are not.
The issue is that people are falling for the hoax and pasting this to their friends, but there really isn't any need to because it's unlikely so many people have been hacked.
Facebook told the Washington Post that cloning is of course a real thing, but the high numbers of messages being sent means it is only a hoax.
If you are worried at all or have been experiencing strange changed to your account you should change your passwords.
