Murderers, rapists and drug dealers have been jailed in south east London and north Kent this month.

News Shopper has reported on brutal deaths, horrific sexual assaults and the funding of terrorist activity.

These are the most significant cases last month.

Kaziem Ofondo

News Shopper:

Kaziem Ofondo, 32, of Halesworth Road, was jailed for ten years for possessing a firearm, ammunition and drug dealing.

A police raid found four handguns and five kilos of skunk cannabis stashed away in the man’s home and shed.
 

Kirk Wright

News Shopper:

Kirk Wright, 32, of Egmont Street, was charged with murder after attacking a 36-year-old man on a bus in New Cross.

The victim, Julian Joseph, suffered a severe head injury before dying in hospital two weeks later.

Wright will appear at Woolwich Crown Court on October 15.
 

Daryl Kouebitra

News Shopper:

Daryl Kouebitra, 21, of Fox Hollow Drive, was jailed for 16 years for attempted murder after trying to stab a man to death.

The “brutal attack” happened in Longheath Gardens and the victim was stabbed several times with a large knife.

A 15-year-old accomplice was also jailed for six years for Grievous Bodily Harm and intent.
 

Khranjit Nijjer

News Shopper:

Khranjit Nijjer, 32, from south east London, was jailed for more than five years for funding her husband’s terrorist activity.

Her husband had been fighting for ISIS in Syria when Nijjer made a £1,500 payment to her husband.

Conversations found on her computer suggested she was aware of her partner's terrorist activity.
 

Bailey-Mascoll

News Shopper:

Bailey-Mascoll, 25, of The Brent, was found guilty of murdering a Bromley dad.

Danny Pearce, 31, was out with his girlfriend and two friends when he was attacked by a pair on a moped.

After refusing to hand over his watch, he was chased, stabbed and shot.

Bailey-Mascoll was found guilty of murder at the Old Baily on June 8 after a three week trial.
 

Iaia Dabo

News Shopper:

Iaia Dabo, 20, of Blessington Road, was sentenced to three years behind bars for possession with intent to supply.

This was after he was caught with 12 wraps of heroin in his underwear in McDonald's.
 

Jonathan Lawlor

News Shopper:

Jonathan Lawlor, 37, of Glovers Close, was jailed for six years after stabbing a man in a pub.

When Lawlor was thrown out of the pub in Sea Street he lashed out and attacked the victim.

The victim thought he had been punched, before noticing he was bleeding and he realised he had been stabbed under the armpit.
 

Samuel Alexander and Dean Evans

News Shopper:

Samuel Alexander, 25, of Duncombe Hill, and Dean Evans, 36, of Brockley Park, were jailed for a total of more than six years after planning to distribute £640,000 counterfeit bank notes.

More than 200 transactions of the fake cash were identified in London and surrounding areas from March 2016 to October 2017.

Alexander was jailed for two years and eight months and Evans was sentenced to four years and three months.
 

Paul Akinnuoye

News Shopper:

Paul Akinnuoye, of Tunbridge Wells, was jailed for 21 years after stabbing an autistic teenager to death in Blackheath.

Jordan Wright, 19, was a college graduate on the verge of starting an apprenticeship before a WhatsApp argument led to his death.

The victim was stabbed in the chest before he collapsed at the entrance to a park on Begbie Road.
 

Louis Elue

News Shopper:

Louis Elue, 22, of New Cross, was put behind bars for 13 years after stabbing a man because he felt he had been “disrespected”.

Elue stabbed the victim several times before he was rushed to hospital where he made a full recovery.

PC Gary Sanders, of Lewisham CID, said: “I believe that Elue was frustrated over an unsuccessful drug deal which did not involve the victim, and sadly it appears the victim was in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
 

Gary Davies

News Shopper:

Gary Davies, 50, was charged with murder after a woman’s body was found in Greenwich.

The victim, 56, suffered stab wounds and was found in the back garden at an address in Tunnel Avenue.

Detectives said the murderer and the deceased were known to each other but they were not treating it as a domestic incident.
 

Francis Ezenwankwo

News Shopper:

Francis Ezenwankwo, 34, of New Cross, was jailed after jumping into bed with a woman renting a room in his house as she was sleeping.

After waking up with Ezenwankwo beside her, the victim tried to kick him out before she was sexually assaulted.

He was found guilty at Snaresbrook Crown Court on June 22 and was jailed for six years.
