A couple from Welling have realised their dream of running their own business - and they have made it portable.
Liz Mitchell, 51, and partner Jamie Taber, who have worked in retail and hospitality in the past, have converted an Italian Piaggio Ape van into a Prosecco-lover's paradise.
With Prosecco and Peroni served on tap, the Oh! Prosecco van will be travelling throughout London and Kent, serving thirsty people at a range of events.
Ms Mitchell told News Shopper she first had the idea to start the business after seeing a Prosecco van driving around Stratford about two years ago.
After "doing her homework" on the business model, she thought she would have a go at bringing the business to life.
"I have always wanted to run my own business. I always knew I had it in me."
And after her mother received a compensation payout from an accident, she invested some of the money in her daughter's business proposal.
Ms Mitchell launched Oh! Prosecco at the end of May, in a launch party at Hall Place.
"The phone has not stopped ringing since," she told News Shopper.
With its first event on June 30, Oh! Prosecco is "all systems go" as it launches. Ms Mitchell has even hinted the van will be catering a celebrity party in Essex in August.
With eyes on engagement parties, weddings, garden parties and festivals, Ms Mitchell hopes to expand the business and bring more Oh! Prosecco vans to Welling in future.
