On August 4, RAIN (Rescued Animals In Need) held a collection that was very successful in raising money to help this local group in looking after and re-homing the many animals that come into their care.
Last year 240 animals were re-homed and donations helped not only with food bills but where necessary, the costs of neutering and vaccinations.
Visitors to the Sainsbury's store at Locksbottom were able to see details of some of the animals currently looking for homes.
