Murder detectives are leading the investigation into the disappearance of a Thamesmead man who vanished from his work after he answered a phone call.
Police in Greenwich are appealing for the public's help to find 49-year-old Seyed Khan.
Mr Khan was last seen at work in Ilford at about 5pm on Wednesday, January 24.
Police said he went outside to answer a phone call and he has not been seen or heard from since.
The Met's Homicide and Major Crime Command has now taken over the investigation into the whereabouts of Mr Khan, who has never gone missing before.
DI Richard Leonard said: "It is completely out of character for Mr Khan to be missing and we are deeply concerned to find his whereabouts. I urge anyone with information to contact my team without delay."
He is Asian, about 5ft 9ins, of medium build with short black hair.
At the time of his disappearance he was wearing blue jeans, a black jacket and grey trainers.
He is known to visit Thamesmead, Plumstead, Woolwich and Ilford.
Anyone who has information should call police in the incident room on 0208 721 4622, on 101 or tweet @MetCC.
