Brockley Deli described it on twitter as “just passing vandalism” and a worker at Brockley Deli who was there when it happened described it as a “freak incident”.
He said: “The window was smashed, that’s kind of it. The one guy just smashed it. That was all there was to it.”
Numerous other local bars and restaurants have offered their support on twitter, sharing their stories of what happened to them.
The Gantry restaurant and bar wrote: “So sorry this happened to you guys. Sending you much love.
“Please let us know if there’s anything we can do to help. We were broken into Halloween weekend so we know how you must be feeling. Just awful.”
Antic Pubs, which run the Jam Circus pub in Brockley wrote: “We are so sorry to see this! Anything we or @jamcircus can do to help, please do let us know.”
Police confirmed they were called at 4.43pm to anti-social behaviour in which a store window was smashed. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
