The Guildford Arms in Greenwich has won the London Dining Pub of the Year 2018 award, given by the Good Pubs Guide 2018.
Polina Minkova, manager at The Guildford Arms, said: “It means a lot to us. It’s quite big publicity, obviously, and we are ready for more people to find out about us.
“It’s a complex of reasons why I think we won the award. First, the quality of the food, but also the venue and the service.”
Published today, the Guide lists the top dining pubs in every county in England and a national title for Wales and Scotland.
Fiona Stapley, editor of the Guide, said: “Good pubs are run by naturally hospitable people who provide an equally warm welcome to regulars and visitors – everyone can feel at home and valued. We feel we belong, we matter and for a while the cares and clutter of daily life can be left behind, and this makes us happy.”
