People from outside the area might use words such as grey, concrete or even ugly to describe south-east London.
Those of us familiar with it can probably all picture placers that fit that portrayal but at the same time we know it’s definitely not true of everywhere around here.
There are many sights in south-east London that are green, lush, picturesque, serene and beautiful – and the 23 photos in our gallery above prove that.
From tranquil water features to gorgeous parks to stunning views, this part of the capital has much to marvel at.
All the pictures have been selected from News Shopper’s Camera Club, a group on Facebook for people looking to get their photos from around south-east London and north Kent published online and in print - you can request to join the group here.
The club invites members to share their photos from around the area, as well as talk to fellow photographers, join in projects and enter competitions.
It’s a place for keen amateur photographers to post their best images from around our patch that show off just how special a place it is to live.
