A Bexleyheath big cat keeper has written a children’s book based on the true story of when he visited children at Great Ormond Street Hospital with his tiger.
Martin Hill worked with big cats for a number of years, forming a bond with many, but one friendship with a tiger called Indy was particularly special.
Remarkably, Martin and Indy visited a number of children’s hospitals across London as part of a scheme called CHATA (Children in Hospital and Animal Assisted Therapy).
He said: “For all of us, it was incredible to witness the overwhelming joy that Indy brought to the children she met on the wards.”
Now Martin has written the book A Tiger By My Bed, which he will be signing at Waterstones in Bluewater from 1pm on Saturday, November 5.
