An author and former News Shopper journo’s saucy crime thriller has been put forward for a major US award.
Tony Flood’s Triple Tease could be in line for the Eric Hoffer Award, which is named after the American philosopher and given to exceptional books published by small, academic and independent press.
Acclaimed by critics and fellow authors, including bestselling crime writer Peter James, the twisting novel is about a woman who acts as bait in a honey trap to catch a serial killer in order to persuade a policeman to ignore her own bad behaviour.
Former Coronation Street actor Brian Capron, who played the killer Richard Hillman on the soap, has already expressed an interest in starring in an adaptation and described it as ‘a riveting tale, brimful with thrilling twists and sensual sex’.
Flood, who used to live in Bromley and is best known for his book My Life With the Stars which includes revelations about Elvis, Muhammad Ali and other big names, said: “It's great that my books have impressed the critics in both America and Britain.
“My crime thriller has been tipped to become a TV series. I have also included some sex scenes because they are important to the story and the characters in it.”
