Two women have been saved at a quarry in Swanscombe after grass fires encircled them.
Four fire crews battled the flames at 4.23pm in Stanhope Road as smoke filled the area yesterday afternoon (August 15).
The women were walked to safety by fire crews who battled the fires for more than an hour.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area after a road was closed by police.
There have been no reports of injuries at this time.
