A former Labour Home Secretary and four of publisher Faber’s most exciting authors have been booked for events by a south London bookshop.
Dulwich Books, voted the UK’s best independent bookshop on 2014, will host a discussion with Alan Johnson at All Saints’ Church in West Dulwich on September 29 to discuss his new political diaries The Long and Winding Road and, inevitably, the uncertain state of the Labour party.
Before then, from 7pm on September 15, the shop will host readings, discussions and bubbly with authors Louise Doughty, Francis Spufford, Richard T Kelly and Harry Parker at its Faber and Fizz night.
Speaking about the latter event, Dulwich books’ events and communications manager Harry Coath said: “
We are absolutely delighted to be bringing four of Faber’s most exciting authors to Dulwich.
“Faber are at the cutting edge of literary fiction publishing and these four writers are testament to that. The event promises to be great fun – our refurbishment will be complete and there’ll be plenty of prosecco!”
Tickets for Alan Johnson cost £25 including a hardback copy of the book or £12 admission only. Faber and Fizz costs £5. Go to dulwichbooks.co.uk
