All the votes have been cast and counted, and we can now reveal which adorable animal has been chosen as the winner of our Cute Pets competition.
The fur could be about to fly because for the first occasion in the four times we’ve run this photo contest it’s the cats rather than the dogs that are very much on top.
The champion pet for 2016 is 10-year-old moggy Mimi (pictured above).
When nominating Mimi for the competition, her owner Sarah Pinel, from Sidcup, said: “She is such a gentle soul who will be there no matter what.”
Just a whisker behind and the second most popular entry in our quest to find the most picture-perfect pet in SE London and north Kent was delightful four-year-old British short hair cat Mooch from Bromley.
In third spot, the highest placed dog was Patch, a three-year-old Jack Russell also from Bromley.
Congratulations to our winners, and well done to all the other finalists (and their owners obviously).
Thanks too to everyone who voted during the final and to the hundreds of owners who entered their pets into the competition earlier on.
