South east London’s former two-weight boxing champ David Haye continued his comeback at Greenwich’s O2 arena with a convincing second round knock-out victory over the unbeaten but unknown Arnold Gjergjaj last weekend.
Here’s five things you need to know…
Or catch up on the action as it happened, here.
It couldn’t have been more one-sided.
Haye may have dispatched previous opponent Mark de Mori in the first round but don’t be fooled into thinking Swiss-based Gjergjaj was any better. Everyone expected it to be one-sided but Gjergjaj didn’t look like he wanted to be there. He was knocked over twice (the second seemingly from a puff of air) before flopping to the canvas for the final time.
Somewhere in this melee are David Haye and Shannon Briggs.
‘Let’s Go Champ’
Next up, Haye will fight former world champion Shannon Briggs. A former world champion himself, but also arguably over-the-hill at 44, Briggs won in the first round on the undercard on Saturday night and then crashed Haye’s interview in the ring WWE-style to set up their clash in September.
Speaking after the fight, Haye said: “I'll be back in September to knock out Shannon Briggs." At the same time, he promised bigger fights next year.
Titles promised
When Haye made his comeback from three-and-a-half years off, he pledged to regain the Heavyweight championship. He repeated that desire on Saturday, vowing ‘bring the title back to South London’.
He said: “Believe me, I will get a heavyweight title again.”

A special one
While Manchester United were busy lifting the FA Cup, manager-elect Jose was not exactly keeping a low profile. The ‘special one’ was conspicuous at the front of the day’s other mass-interest sporting event, which happened to be at The O2, where he answered ‘no comment’ regarding Man Utd.
Other celeb spots included boxers from Amir Khan, Barry McGuigan, Chris Eubank Jnr, rugby bloke Danny Cipriani, Westlife stars, Fatman Scoop and Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner, who is currently starring in the new X-Men film.

‘Wild’ Webb marches on
Surrey boxer Nick Webb had previously smashed all of his previous opponents inside the first round, creating understandable interest. This time, Hari Miles took him the distance over four rounds in brutal slugfest. Webb took a couple of shots but Miles took even more.
